Our Purpose
KMGC’s pace of play policy is designed to maintain a fair and enjoyable experience for all golfers. A set pace allows you to plan your round with confidence, knowing that you can expect consistent timing throughout your day at KMGC. This policy ensures that all guests are able to enjoy the course while also respecting the time of others.
Pace of Play Guidelines
- 9 Holes – 2 hours and 15 minutes
- 18 Holes – 4 hours and 40 minutes
(This includes a 10-minute break at the turn to use restrooms or purchase food and beverages.)
Our staff carefully monitors pace of play at checkpoints to ensure consistent timing throughout the course.

Golf Course Pace of Play Procedures for Rangers
At our golf course, we are committed to providing an enjoyable and efficient experience for all golfers. While our rangers play a key role in maintaining a smooth pace of play, we understand that every situation is unique. As such, pace of play will always be handled on a case-by-case basis, with the goal of ensuring that everyone has a positive and fair experience on the course. Below are the guidelines our rangers will follow when addressing groups who may fall behind the expected pace, along with our ongoing commitment to being helpful, fair, and respectful.
Friendly and Supportive Approach
You’ll see our rangers frequently throughout the day – they’re not just here to monitor pace of play, but to make sure your experience is as enjoyable as possible. They’ll check in to see how your day is going, offer assistance if needed, help you find lost balls, and provide any course information you might need.
Our rangers are here to assist, not to disrupt. If a group has fallen behind pace of play, they will approach in a friendly and non-confrontational manner. Rangers will encourage groups to catch up to the pace by offering helpful suggestions to improve their speed, but they will never force anyone to rush. The ultimate goal is to maintain a fun, fair, and respectful atmosphere for everyone on the course.
Encouragement, Not Enforcement
Rangers will not require groups who are playing within the established time to play faster. We encourage players to keep up the pace, but we understand that not everyone plays at the same speed. Rangers are here to offer guidance, not to force actions.
Guiding Groups, Not Monitoring Constantly
Rangers will aim to interact with slow groups about once every three holes. We do not want to create distractions or put undue pressure on players. While our rangers will keep an eye on the pace of play, they will not hover over groups or interrupt play frequently. They’re there to offer suggestions and solutions, and help everyone maintain a positive experience.
Respecting the Challenges of Pace of Play
We understand that pace of play can sometimes be a challenge, especially with various skill levels and unpredictable course conditions. However, our rangers are tasked with ensuring that all groups stay within the expected pace of play to ensure the best possible experience for everyone on the course. They will make every effort to be helpful and understanding.
The Ranger’s Role in Managing Pace
While rangers are here to be kind and helpful, they also have the responsibility to take action if necessary. If a group is consistently behind pace and does not make an effort to catch up, rangers may ask the group to move ahead to a different hole. In extreme cases, where a group fails to make the turn in a timely manner or repeatedly disrupts the pace of play, the rangers have the right to remove the group from the course. In such instances, a rain check will be issued for the remaining holes.
Policy on Behavior and Pace Violations
In addition to pace of play issues, rangers are also authorized to address any behavior that disrupts the enjoyment of the game for others. This includes aggressive behavior, inappropriate language, excessive delays, or failure to adhere to course rules. The rangers’ goal is to create an environment where all golfers can enjoy their time on the course in a respectful, timely manner.
